A Day With Jawbone: A New Experience.

As an overqualified scaredy cat, the idea of shooting a gun has always felt impossible to me. We've all seen the dangers of a good gun in the hands of bad people but, of course, there's so much more to this hobby that I've always been too terrified to explore. My shaking hands just could not pull a trigger and the heartbeat in my throat made my vision blur.

That was until Jawbone entered the field.

On a sunny, excitement riddled Saturday I joined the Jawbone team for a day of shooting and shit talking (I'm not sure what they're better at to be honest). I was ready to capture some videos for marketing and see some interesting guns. Little did I know I'd be shooting one myself.

Anyone who knows me was shocked that I shot a .22 that day and LOVED it. Looking through the scope, taking aim and FIRE.

What. A. Rush.

Was it a powerful, scary gun? Nope. But it was a big step for me.

My fear of guns is horrible but after watching the Jawbone boys shoot and talk about their passion I felt much safer being at the range (something I used to hate). They explained the importance of gun safety and respecting the firearms you are working with. They guided me.

Thank you to Pieter for loading his firearm for me to shoot, Bradley for making so many jokes I forgot to worry, Nico for the encouragement and that million dollar picture you see on this post and Joshua for your gentle and kind guidance.

The entire Jawbone team was patient and encouraging. I felt so accepted into this community. It was nothing short of fun, educational and empowering.

See you in the field,
